Every time I see this map, I am struck by the total arrogance of the Government of the United States. If there was ever any doubt that the United States has become an Empire, supported by military force, this map crushes those doubts. Here it is, the entire globe, every continent, every ocean, every nation, neatly divided into sections, which fall under the area of responsibility of US military combatant commands.
Whatever happened to the concept of using military force only for the defense of the United States? What about non-involvement in the affairs of others? Unfortunately, the Government, the Military, the banks, and international business interests believe military action is no different than diplomacy. They believe force, violence, and death are acceptable means of influencing other nations and people – that is just so long as the United States military is doing the influencing.
The United States spends more on it’s military than any other nation. More than all our supposed enemies combined-- more than all our allies combined – more than almost all of the rest of the world combined! We have more foreign bases than any other nation in the world – more than all our supposed adversaries combined – more than all our allies combined – more than all the nations of the planet combined. Since the end of WWII we have intervened militarily in more nations than any other. More than all the Communist countries in the world - more than all our cold-war allies – more than every nation in the world combined.
The United States is the most militaristic nation in the history of the world. It is a tragedy that a nation that was founded on the principles of Liberty and Freedom has become a military Empire – a threat to everyone anywhere – including its own citizens. It is a tragedy that a People who were once admired and known for their philosophers, artists, statesmen, scientists, engineers, inventors, writers, and industrialists is now know for its militarism and weapons.
Peace and Prosperity and Liberty and Individual Rights are not attainable by the sword. They are achieved through the victory of ideas and the rule of law.
It is time for the 2nd American Revolution.
